‘Gilmore Girls’ Documentary In the Works: 11 Stars Confirmed to Participate with Several Missing Names

A big Gilmore Girls documentary is in the works, titled Searching For Stars Hollow, and several of the show’s stars will be appearing via interviews!

The series will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this fall.

So far, the lineup of stars who will be featured includes Kelly Bishop, who memorably played Emily Gilmore, Jared Padalecki, who got his start on the series playing Rory’s first boyfriend Dean, and Chad Michael Murray, who starred in the first few seasons as Rory’s prep school enemy Tristan.

Also currently signed on are Keiko Agena, who portrayed Lane Kim, Sally Struthers, who portrayed Babette Dell, Liz Torres, who portrayed Miss Patty, Emily Kuroda, who portrayed Mrs. Kim, Rose Abdoo, who portrayed Gypsy, Kathleen Wilhoite, who portrayed Liz Danes, and Matt Jones, who portrayed Morgan, and Grant Lee Phillips, who portrayed the Stars Hollow troubadour, all appeared in the series. There will also be interviews with behind-the-scenes members of the crew as well!

Noticeably absent from this are the two leads: Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham. Scott Patterson, Milo Ventimiglia and Matt Czuchry are also not listed at this time.

In a statement, one of the doc’s directors Meghna Balakumar told THR, “The interviews that we’ve already conducted with the cast have been a delight. We’ve shot more than 100 hours of footage and have already unearthed stories, commentary, critiques, and more. And we’re continuing to shoot more interviews in the coming months to present the most complete, full and truly new story of the show’s impact and legacy that is only possible at this historical moment.”
