Brandon Blackstock‘s ex-wife Melissa is speaking out for the first time following his death at the age of 48.
The late music manager passed away on August 7 after a three-year battle with cancer. His official cause of death was just released.
We’ve already seen statements from Brandon‘s brother and his 18-year-old son Seth. Now Melissa, his first wife, is also breaking her silence.
Brandon and Melissa were married from 1999 to 2012. They share two children: Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18. He later married Kelly Clarkson and had two children with her.
Melissa took to Instagram to pay tribute to Brandon and praise him for being the “best Daddy and Pa.”

“On May 29, 1999 I married the man who would become the father of my children. Brandon was full of charm, witt, and just an absolute gentleman who happened to wear cowboy boots, wrangler jeans, and a cowboy hat,” Melissa wrote. “He was by far, hands down, the best Daddy and Pa. He loved hard and he fought hard. The best thing Brandon has left for his children is they know where he is. I’ve heard it said, ‘Nothing is lost when you know where it is’ and Brandon is with Jesus his Savior. Savannah, Seth, and our grandchildren are the best parts of who Brandon and I are. Thank you all for your prayers and condolences. ✝️”
Their daughter Savannah made a big life announcement just weeks ago.
