Johnny Depp is on the witness stand right now in his defamation case against his ex wife Amber Heard.

Johnny called Amber‘s allegations of domestic violence “diabolical” and said he was “doing the right thing” pursuing the high profile defamation case.

About Amber‘s allegations, he said, “It was a complete shock, it just didn’t need to go in that direction, as nothing of the kind ever happened…There were arguments and things of that nature, but never did myself reach the point of striking Ms. Heard in anyway, nor have I struck anyone in my life.”

About why he has continuously pursued this trial despite years having gone by, he said, “It was my responsibility to not only clear my name …I wanted to clear my children of this horrid thing they had to read about their father, that was untrue.”

“My goal is the truth,” he said. “Lies build upon lies.”

This is not the first time Johnny has taken the stand in a trial about these issues. In 2020, both he and Amber testified in the UK libel suit after The Sun called him a “wife-beater.” He ended up losing that trial.
