Jon Bon Jovi has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 59-year-old musician revealed the news shortly before a scheduled performance, via Variety.

He is “fully vaccinated and feeling fine,” according to a statement from his rep to the outlet.

For those unaware, breakthrough COVID cases are still possible and expected, since vaccines are not 100% effective in preventing infections. At the same time, vaccinated people who test positive are likely asymptomatic or have much milder illness than if they were not vaccinated. Approximately 98 to 99% of COVID deaths are linked to unvaccinated people.

Jon Bon Jovi was set to perform at an event called “Runaway With JBJ” at the Loews South Beach hotel in Miami, Fla. He returned a positive result on a rapid COVID test, local NBC affiliate WSVN reported.

The crowd was told the singer felt “great” and was going “to bed” while members of the band, who tested negative, remained for the scheduled performance.

One star recently exited a project because he refused to get vaccinated.
