Met Gala 2021: COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement & Mask Rules Revealed

The 2021 Met Gala is tomorrow (September 13) and you may be wondering if there are any specific COVID-19 guidelines that are being followed.

Well, the annual event, which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, will have a mask mandate enforced, as well as a vaccine requirement.

“Currently, all attendees at The Met Gala on September 13 must provide proof of full vaccination and will also be expected to wear masks indoors except when eating or drinking,” a spokesperson for The Met told People in a statement. “We will update these guidelines as needed.”

That means that every single celebrity who attends the Met Gala will presumably have their full vaccination.

Seven celebrities are reportedly (or confirmed to be) skipping this year’s Met Ball. And one celeb will never, ever be invited back.
