Love Is Blind is the new Netflix dating series that had so much attention and everyone is getting hooked on it!

The season kicked off with 15 men and 15 women, who were all looking for love. The men stayed on one side of the house while the women were kept on the other side of the house. They then entered pods where they could go on dates, but the twist is that they were not allowed to see each other. A wall separated the pods so the men and women could only talk without knowing what they looked like.

“We ended up spending 19 or 20 hours a day just talking,” one of the contestants told Women’s Health. “I started to realize there were parts of me — walls I put up — and I didn’t even know they were there. I wasn’t even aware of them, and they were just blown open. I was crying the whole time. It was this crazy, emotional experience.”

The contestant, Rory Newbrough, revealed that after the contestants met with every contestants of the opposite gender, they would rank who they liked most and then producers would cross-reference these rankings to decide who they would continue dating. The contestants went from going on 15 dates each to going on 8 dates each and finally 2 dates each.

“After every date, we would list, in order, who we liked the most,” Rory said. “As the numbers got smaller, the dates got longer, from 30 minutes to several hours.”

Rory said that the experience made him and other contestants do some soul searching!

“There’s parts of you that you don’t realize you’re carrying until all the noise stops, and I think that happened to a lot of people. It’s very raw and very real,” he said. “For 10 days, you’re just sitting with that, and you can’t run. A lot of us had to just look our demons directly in the eye and understand them… It’s incredible.”

The couples who got engaged at the end of the experiment were then flown to Mexico to grow their physical connection. The show then put them up in apartments in Atlanta, where they lived together until their wedding dates (which were 28 days after their engagements).
