The Los Angeles Lakers returned to the Staples Center on Friday (January 31) for their first game since the death of former teammate Kobe Bryant and the iconic player’s memory was honored at the event.

Every seat inside the Staples Center was covered with a shirt featuring one of Kobe‘s numbers – 8 and 24 – and two chairs on the players’ row of chairs were adorned with Kobe‘s jersey and his late daughter Gianna‘s jersey.

LeBron James and the rest of the Lakers wore Kobe‘s jersey while warming up before the game and Usher appeared to sing “Amazing Grace” to the crowd.

Kobe‘s initials KB were also placed on the edge of the court and his numbers were written out in flower petals.
