AS a Sunday night sizzler, the new dramatisation of H G Wells’ towering novel The War Of The Worlds ticks all the boxes. It has a starry cast and a glamorous heroine in the form of Eleanor Tomlinson, better known as Demelza from Poldark, dressed in a tight riding jacket with her flame-red hair falling seductively around her face.
