Taylor Swift Supports LGBTQ Community with ‘You Need to Calm Down’ Lyrics!

Taylor Swift‘s new song “You Need to Calm Down” from the upcoming album Lover is basically a gay anthem that is perfect for Pride Month!
In each of the verses, the 29-year-old singer takes aim at different people/groups of people who just need to calm down.
The second verse is a love letter to the gay community and slams anyone who has an issue with people who identify LGBTQ.
“Why are you mad when you could be GLAAD?” Taylor says, in reference to the organization that does so much positive work for the community. She then references pride month and the anti-gay protestors who are “in the dark ages.”
“Sunshine on the street at the parade / But you would rather be in the dark ages / Makin’ that sign must’ve taken all night,” Taylor sings.
The best lyric all is when Taylor sings, “And control your urges to scream about the people you hate / ‘Cause shade never made anybody less gay.”
