‘Come On Superman, Say Your Stupid Line’ Lyrics & Meaning: Tame Impala Song Goes Viral on TikTok

There’s a song going viral on TikTok, and it’s all because of a single line of the lyrics!

Tame Impala‘s “The Less I Know the Better” was originally released in 2015 on the band’s album Currents, but now it’s becoming a TikTok trend.

The song is a story about being left out of a love triangle, and feeling insecure because a woman he wants is now with a man named Trevor.

I heard they slept together / Oh, the less I know the better,” he sings.

Frontman Kevin Parker originally said to NME that it “shouldn’t be on a Tame Impala album because it has this dorky, white disco funk.”

In part thanks to the popular music video (with over 100 million views and counting), it became one of the biggest songs from the record. And by 2022, it had already been certified four-times Platinum.

The line that’s gone viral on TikTok – “So, come on, Superman, say your stupid line” – is in the song’s outro, and it seems that he’s either referring to Trevor as “Superman” and admitting defeat, or trying to hype himself up and become like Superman.

Today, the lyric has people revealing their own personal signature lines, and usually skews funny. One sound has nearly a million videos under it already.
