Her contract is up in May 2026, and while CBS is hoping to keep her in the fold, the next phase of her role is unclear, per Variety.

The news comes as the network cuts staff and repositions several high-profile names across its news division. CBS already announced changes at CBS Evening News, canceled The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and reworked its weekend morning lineup as well.

Gayle has been a staple on morning TV for over a decade. She may shift to a different role at the news division, but unclear for now.

According to sources, her future at the network will be one of the big decisions that the new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss will make.

“There have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026. She’s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about the future,” a CBS News spokesperson said to the outlet in response.

She recently posted a photo with a Fox News host, and she’s getting mixed reactions in her Instagram comments.
