After Netflix won the bidding war, the streamer gave the project a straight to series order, with Adam also set to executive produce alongside creator and showrunner Peter Craig, as well as Adolescence‘s Philip Barantini, who will direct. In addition, Peter is writing all episodes.
Here’s a synopsis: When an escaped convict is cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom. But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives, as well as an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator trained in “tactical empathy.”
This marks Adam‘s first full-time role on a TV series since Girls ended in 2017!
If you missed it, Philip Barantini is also directing an upcoming music special on the streaming service.
It was recently announced that Adam is also set to star in an upcoming military drama with Anne Hathaway.
