Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe is sharing a video with fans to update them on her battle with stage 3 breast cancer.
The 44-year-old actress, best known for her work in Hallmark Channel movies, is now bald and she feels “much better” now that she has lost her hair.

“Well…I’m bald. So you know…there’s that. I can’t tell you how much better I feel. The whole family was there to support me. Kids giggled and my son has asked me to let him friends all touch my bald head. My daughter even said… you look pretty good! lol highest compliment you can get is from a 9 year old girl,” Crystal wrote on Instagram.
One day earlier, Crystal shared a video to show the process of shaving her head.
“Well ladies and gentlemen,..I did a thing. Waking up to clumps of hair falling out was traumatic. Hiding it was the worst! But doing this… this made me feel like I was in the drivers street. Sharing my head with you all…..scary but I really want anyone who’s going through this to see that I’m ok. And you will be too. Also, I still cried a lot. But after it all…felt so strong. Side note- surround yourself with people that tell you how beautiful you are bald. That is the assignment. And if you don’t have anyone I will tell you!!” she captioned the below video.
Crystal revealed her cancer diagnosis earlier this month in an essay shared with People.
“In February of 2025, while getting ready one morning, I noticed a large mass in my right breast. In that moment, everything else fell away. At first, I thought I had sprained a muscle while working out. To be safe, I immediately went to my doctor who ordered a mammogram and guided ultrasound, but found nothing,” she writes.
But months later, the mass was still there and had changed positions, so Crystal returned to her doctor.
“The mass measured 10 centimeters. This time, my doctor wasn’t so casual; I was rushed for a blind biopsy. After what felt like an eternity, the doctor gently placed his hand on my arm and said, ‘Honey, I can’t be sure, but this feels like cancer,’” the Signed, Sealed, Delivered actress recalled.
A few days later, she learned she had been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
