The performance bit, which accompanies his song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” has become a fan favorite, featuring celebrity guests like Al Roker, Bowen Yang, Hilary Duff, Kate Hudson, and more.
It all began in Dallas, Texas after a rumor spread online that Therapuss podcast host Jake Shane had inspired the song.
“He happened to be in Dallas and I was like this would be funny to like play into that and he came up. Originally I was going to have him up for a different song, something else and then we did that and people loved that, so we started bringing up fans.”
Since then, Role Model has been booking the “Sallys” himself at nearly every show and it’s become one of the tour’s most talked-about moments.
