Robert Griffin III is recovering from a scary car accident.

The 35-year-old former NFL quarterback shared that he is “thankful” to be safe after he and his family were involved in the “worst car accident” of their lives on Friday (October 3) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Robert shared a post on X / Twitter detailing what happened, writing, “Scary crash, ricocheted off the highway divider multiple times, blown both front tires. Thankful to God that my wife and kids are safe.”

His Mercedes Sprinter van is shown with severe damage in the photos.

The Fort Worth Police Department told People the accident happened around 11:48 a.m. on Friday.

“South units were dispatched to a major accident involving 4 vehicles, near the 6400 block of South Freeway. Upon arrival, officers located 3 of the vehicles that were involved; the other had left the scene prior to officers’ arrival,” the police said in a statement. The accident is under investigation.

Robert is in town to cover the college football game between Texas Christian University and University of Colorado Boulder for Fox Sports.

On Saturday (October 4), he shared an update on X, revealing he sustained two vertebrae factures.

“Ultimately those cars are replaceable, but the families inside them are not. Thank you to God for protecting us all,” he wrote.

Another star was recently involved in a car crash as well.
