During a recent episode of Sherri, the talk show host addressed the elimination of Lauren Jauregui from the show’s ongoing 24th season.
After being sent home, the former Fifth Harmony band member admitted she was “pissed,” and that’s a feeling the comedian could relate to.
“Losing any competition is devastating, but I can tell you firsthand, nobody gets more upset than the one who gets eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. Lauren said what she said. She meant what she said. It’s really hard getting booted, especially when you know you shouldn’t have been voted off yet,” Sherri said.
Recalling her time on season 14, the 30 Rock alum said she was “p’d off” too.
“You put your heart and your soul into it. I don’t know how I went home before Melissa Gilbert from Little House on the Prairie. And I’m telling you, I still can’t let this one go,” she admitted.
Her shock stems from the fact that Melissa sustained an injury during her time on Dancing with the Stars and had to go to the hospital mid-show. Despite this, Sherri was still eliminated, leading to her long-held grudge.
She continued confessing, saying, “I kept going, ‘How did she beat me from the ICU?’ When I tell y’all I was so mad at Melissa Gilbert — when she ran for president of the Screen Actors Guild for the actors, I didn’t vote. I’ve got to admit, I didn’t vote for Melissa.”
However, the Chicago native also says she’s good with Melissa now.
“You’re lucky and you’re really sweet and if you run again for president, you got my vote, girl.”
Lauren recently wrote an open letter to her fans about her Dancing with the Stars elimination.
