Mariah Carey is addressing her beef with Eminem.
The 56-year-old singer appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier this week and the subject of the rapper came up during a game of “Plead the Fifth.”

The host asked Mariah if there was truth to the rumor that she and Eminem started having issues because he wanted her to play his mother in the 2002 film 8 Mile—despite the “We Belong Together” singer only being four years older.
“This summer, a music producer claimed the real reason why you and Eminem started beefing was because he approached you about playing his mom in 8 Mile. Is there any truth to that?” Andy asked.
“From what I heard, there is truth to that, but I don’t think that he actually — Well, who knows who approached who?” she replied.
When pressed further on whether the proposed casting decision ignited their long-time feud, Mariah said, “No. I mean, maybe. It depends what he’s thinking. I really don’t care.”
“Like, whatever he’s said, then I’m that, fine. Not really. But that’s a rap lyric,” the songwriter added with a wave of her hand.
The topic was brought up again this past June on the TFU podcast. Music producer Damion “Damizza” Young claimed Mariah was approached about the role and her “insecurities kicked in big time.” Kim Basinger was cast instead.
Speaking of feuds… the songstress was also asked about Jennifer Lopez in the same episode. See what she had to say!
