‘CANCELLED!’ Lyrics: Is Taylor Swift Singing About Blake Lively? Song Supports Friends Involved in Scandal

Taylor Swift‘s song “CANCELLED!” on her new album The Life of a Showgirl is all about friends of hers who have been involved in scandal and how they can relate to each other.

While people thought Taylor might have been singing about Blake Lively on “Ruin the Friendship” (she isn’t), she might actually be referencing the actress on this song. And it’s a completely different sentiment.

Head inside to listen to the song and read the full lyrics…

“Good thing I like my friends cancelled / I like ‘em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal / Like my whiskey sour / And poison thorny flowers / Welcome to my underworld / Where it gets quite dark / At least you know exactly who your friends are / They’re the ones with matching scars, ” Taylor sings on the chorus.

Taylor seemingly says in the song that because she’s had friends stick by her side in dark moments, she’s not judging friends who have tribulations. If she’s really singing about Blake, this shows that her friendship with the actress is totally different than the way the media has perceived it to be lately.

Later in the song, Taylor sings, “They stood by me / Before my exoneration / They believed I was innocent / So I’m not here for judgement, no.”
