Whitney Wolfe Herd had no involvement in the making of the new Hulu movie Swiped and she’s sharing her thoughts amid its release.
The 36-year-old Bumble founder and CEO is the subject of the film, which follows her trajectory from being one of Tinder’s first employees to founding a multi-billion dollar company with Bumble.
Whitney said in a CNBC interview on Friday (September 19) that she actually wanted to shut the movie down when she first heard about it.

“No, I’m not involved in it… Frankly, I was informed about this movie after it was already off to the races. I think they had already written the script and done all these things. I even was asking my lawyer two years ago, like, ‘What do I do? I don’t want a movie about me. Shut it down!’ He’s like, ‘There’s nothing you can do. You’re somewhat of a public figure. There’s public information out there. They’re going to do what they’re going to do,’” Whitney said.
She added, “I don’t know if I’m going to watch it or not. I’m obviously both terrified and maybe slightly flattered, but I think the strangeness and the fear of it outweighs any flattery. Listen, we’ll just see. I gotta get some popcorn and stay tuned.”
Whitney was happy with the casting choice of Lily James to play.
“I am honored that they chose Lily James. She’s a very talented actress,” she said.
Whitney‘s current net worth has been revealed amid a significant drop over the years.
