Sydney Sweeney is making it clear that she will not be commenting on her recent American Eagle jeans commercial at the upcoming premiere of her new movie Christy.

Sydney plays professional boxer Christy Martin in the film, which will make its world premiere this Friday, (September 5), at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Euphoria star hasn’t made an official statement regarding the viral ad, and she clearly doesn’t want the controversy to get in the way of the film’s premiere.

“The movie’s about Christy, and that’s what I’ll be there to talk about,” she added.

It makes sense that she would want to focus solely on the film, especially since she underwent a significant transformation to become the athlete on-screen, gaining 30 pounds after months of boxing and weight training.

Christy will be released theatrically on November 7.
