Big Brother season 27 resumes tonight with an all-new episode, and we’re inching closer and closer to the season finale in late September.

However, fans of the series might be surprised that the show is actually not airing the next two Sundays.

We know the reason why, and what will be happening instead.

On Sunday (September 7), CBS will be airing the 2025 MTV VMAs instead of the new episode of BB27.

Instead, CBS will air a special episode of Big Brother on Tuesday (September 9) at 8pm to make up for the missed Sunday (September 7) episode. There will also be episodes airing at regular times on Wednesday (September 10) and Thursday (September 11).

On Sunday (September 14), CBS will be airing the 2025 Emmy Awards instead of a new episode of BB27.

According to an unconfirmed schedule that’s floating around X, there will be no makeup episode the week of September 15. Instead, CBS is reportedly airing a 2 hour episode on Wednesday (September 17) and a two-hour episode on Thursday (September 18). Usually, during two hour live shows, fans expect to see double evictions. None of this is confirmed, but rumors will continue to circulate.

We’ll update when we learn official information from CBS.

Regular episodes will reportedly return on Sunday (September 21), and the season finale will air on Sunday (September 28).
