Rylie Jeffries was eliminated from Big Brother last week, and did not give very many interviews once exiting the house.

He faced extreme backlash online for some comments he made to fellow houseguest, Katherine Woodman, amid their showmance.

Some comments he made included that he did not like her tone when she spoke to him, seemingly being upset that when she would not sleep in the same bed as him, and more. He also said, “I’m being with you outside of this, whether you like it or not.”

In response to the backlash, Rylie told EW, “I understand how things may have come across, but I speak with passion. I love with my whole heart, and maybe that intensity was misunderstood. I would never intentionally disrespect anyone, especially Katherine. I respect her deeply, and she’s her own person, makes her own choices. I think some moments just don’t reflect who I truly am. My intentions have always come from a place of care and loyalty, not control.”

He continued, “It’s heartbreaking to be misunderstood. People online don’t know me, but my friends, family, fellow Houseguests, and Katherine do, and that’s what’s important. I spent every day in that house with people who truly know me, who see the real me: someone who’s loving, funny, and full of heart. It hurts to be painted as aggressive when all I’ve ever done is lead with passion and care.”

He added, “Being part of Big Brother was a blessing, and I’m truly grateful for the friendships and memories I’ve made. I’m a God-fearing, big-hearted man who wears his emotions openly. I love deeply, and I lead with kindness. It’s painful to see people online twist that into something negative. The version of me being spread isn’t who I am, and I wish people would see past the false claims.”

EW also asked Rylie about bringing up fellow houseguest Rachel Reilly‘s kids.

They asked, “You called Rachel out for lying in the game as someone who has kids. Should moms not be allowed to play Big Brother?”

Rylie responded, “I believe moms have every right to play Big Brother, and there has been multiple moms that have played this game. I just trusted her, and it really hurt that she wasn’t honest.”
