“Being young and assertive is intense for a lot of people, as a woman. I’ve always known what it’s like to not have a voice, and that terrifies me,” Jenna told the publication. She went on to say that she’s learned to speak for herself and always tries to make sure she uses her voice now that she’s able.

“I don’t want to be in that situation again. But for me, it’s just about making sure I use my voice in the most professional, efficient, and kind way possible,” Jenna told the publication.

Jenna went on to reveal that she didn’t know how to express herself on set previously, recalling one unnamed production that made her feel insecure about opening up about her thoughts.

“I was very young, I didn’t know anything about the industry, perhaps because of certain professional experiences I’d had in the past that were a little more difficult,” Jenna said in the interview. “I shut myself away and became very insecure about my place.”

Now, Jenna says she’s learned to speak up. She says that working together with the cast and crew leads to the best final product for viewers and she’s determined to keep speaking up and sharing her opinions instead of letting anyone silence her.
