It looks like all of those people who are buying American Eagle jeans because they support Sydney Sweeney‘s campaign are not going to the movie theaters for her latest film.
Sydney‘s new movie Americana opened in theaters this weekend and is “all-out bombing in its nationwide debut,” according to THR.
The thriller follows the lives of local outsiders and outcasts as they violently intertwine when a rare Lakota Ghost shirt falls onto the black market in a small South Dakota town. The movie also starred Paul Walter Hauser, Eric Dane, Simon Rex, and Halsey.
THR reports that the movie is only expected to gross $840,000 for its opening weekend for a 16th-place finish. That comes out to a per-theater average of $460. Comparatively, the movie Weapons grossed $13,585 per theater in its opening weekend last weekend.
Americana earned a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Sydney has another movie being released this month with a star-studded cast.
