Kevin McHale is hitting the stage!

The 37-year-old Glee actor will make his New York City stage debut this fall in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

He will be joining the revival of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy as William Barfée, the eccentric and endearing speller with a “magic foot,” per People.

The limited 14-week engagement begins previews November 7 before a November 17 opening night at New World Stages in Manhattan.

The run will continue through February 15, 2026.

Philippe Arroyo, who originated the role of François in & Juliet on Broadway, will play Chip Tolentino. Leana Rae Concepcion, who just appeared in Merrily We Roll Along and its upcoming film adaptation, will play Marcy Park.

Based on an original play by The Farm, Spelling Bee premiered Off-Broadway in 2005 at Second Stage Theater. The production starred Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Dan Fogler (among others), and moved to Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theatre, where it ran for nearly three years and won two Tony Awards.
