Alexander Skarsgård is setting the rumors straight about this Taylor Swift song.
The 48-year-old actor was a guest on Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast on Monday (July 21). During the episode, Alexander responded to the rumor that he inspired Taylor Swift‘s hit single “Wildest Dreams.”

Taylor has never explicitly said that Alexander was her muse for the song, but the rumors have been swirling since the two of them appeared to get cozy while working on The Giver together.
“Do you have the same fear to either acknowledge or deny that that could be true, because the power of the Swifties is so strong that you don’t even want to talk about it?” Dax joked on the episode of his podcast, referencing Taylor‘s passionate fanbase.
Alexander neglected to comment one way or the other on whether or not he inspired the song, but he did make a joke about it.
“Well, I’m gonna be honest,” Alexander said. “I wrote the lyrics to that song and sent it to Taylor.”
