‘Big Brother’ Season 27’s Isaiah ‘Zae’ Frederich Issues Apology For Using Ableist Slur On Show

Isaiah “Zae” Frederich is speaking out about using an offensive term on Big Brother.

The now former contestant became the first evicted houseguest of the season on Thursday (July 17), and in an exit interview, addressed using an ableist slur on a live feed.

Last week, Zae faced backlash while playing chess with fellow contestant Keanu Soto when he said the word.

During their board game, Zae said, via TMZ, “Oh sh-t. I’m a fu–ing r—-d,” before quickly admitting fault, saying, “Damn, I shouldn’t say that word.”

Keanu responded, “No, you shouldn’t.”

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly after his eviction, Zae was given “a chance to address that.”

“Obviously, I apologize for anyone offended by my words. I did not mean it like that. I regretted it as soon as I said it, and hopefully people don’t look at me less because of it,” he said. “I was so involved in that game of chess that I just didn’t think, and it kind of just slipped out and I was like, ‘Whoa, I did not expect myself to say that,’ and I tried to correct it and move on the best I could.”
