Jimmy Kimmel is speaking out following news that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been canceled.
On Thursday (July 18), Stephen Colbert announced that his CBS late-night talk show will be ending next year, with the final episode airing in 2026. In a statement, the network said that the cancellation was “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night.”
Hours after the news was announced, Jimmy shared a message of support for Stephen while also slamming CBS.

“F–k you and all your Sheldons CBS,” Jimmy added, seemingly referencing CBS’ Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon character, Sheldon Cooper.
Following the shocking news, many have speculated that the real reason for the cancellation may be political driven.
Earlier this week on The Late Show, Stephen, who has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, blasted CBS’ parent company Paramount Global’s $16M settlement over Trump’s 60 Minutes lawsuit, calling it a “big fat bribe.”
Senator Elizabeth Warren seemed to agree with this speculation by writing on X, “CBS canceled Colbert’s show just three days after Colbert called out CBS owner Paramount for its $16 settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery. America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.”
