Alexis Bledel is withdrawing her most recent Emmy consideration for The Handmaid’s Tale.
The 43-year-old actress played Dr. Emily Malek/Ofglen in the hit Hulu drama series from seasons 1-4, and made a return to the season 6 series finale. She was nominated for four Emmy Awards for the role in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.
She won in 2017 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, and received the same nomination in 2020 and 2021. However, since she appeared in seven episodes in season 2 in 2018, she was instead nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series that year.

Even though Alexis was originally submitted again for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for 2025, the Television Academy has created a rule that leaves her ineligible to be nominated.
The new policy does not allow actors who have previously been nominated in a lead or supporting category for the same show to compete in the guest category. Because of this, Alexis has withdrawn her name for consideration.
Last month, Alexis gave rare comments about her time on The Handmaid’s Tale.
