Blake Shelton is responding to backlash over his performance at the 2025 American Music Awards.
Both Blake and his wife Gwen Stefani pre-taped their performances for the awards show and were not actually in the room on Monday night (May 26) for the live show.
Fans who attended the live event shared videos on social media of the performances playing on a big screen inside the Las Vegas venue instead of Blake and Gwen appearing on stage.
“The craziest part of the AMAS last night was being told ‘and here’s Blake Shelton live’ only for them to light up the stage like he’s there and never saying to us it was prerecorded. THEN, doing the same thing with Gwen Stefani!” a fan wrote on TikTok.
Blake took to Twitter to respond to the backlash.
