
Matthew Perry‘s doctor is headed to prison.
Salvador Plasencia was held responsible for supplying the late actor with ketamine, which led to his untimely death from overdose in 2023.
On Wednesday (December 3), Plasencia was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison, according to Variety.

The publication reports that he apologized to Matthew‘s family before his sentence was read in a Los Angeles federal court, and he also admitted to violating the oath he took to care for the actor.
“I failed Mr. Perry. I failed his family,” he said. “I should have protected him.”
The prosecutors in the case were asking for three years in prison, but the defense thought he should only get probation. Judge Sherilyn Peace Garrett also rejected the defense’s argument that he initially intended to treat Matthew’s depression.
Back in June, Salvador had plead guilty to supplying the ketamine to Matthew without a legitimate medical purpose in the weeks before his passing.

Earlier this year, the “Ketamine Queen” accepted a plea deal to five federal criminal charges, including providing the drug that ultimately led to Matthew‘s overdose.
