The initial ruling found Yeong-su guilty of hugging and kissing a woman on her cheek without her consent. He was sentenced to eight months in prison and required to attend a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program.

The 81-year-old actor has denied the allegations.

According to People, the appellate court opted to overturn the sentencing on the grounds that Yeong-su has completed his treatment program.

The accuser shared a statement on Yeong-su’s acquittal through Women’s Link Worldwide, as reported by the BBC.

“Despite today’s ruling, I will continue to speak the truth to the very end,” she said, stating that the court’s decision would not “invalidate the truth or erase the pain I have suffered.”
