Shay Mitchell is bringing her love of self-care to the next generation. The actress and entrepreneur has teamed up with Esther Song to launch Rini, a K-beauty inspired skincare brand made just for kids.

The idea came to the two moms during their daughters’ dance camp when they realized how harsh adult products could be on young, sensitive skin.

“We wanted something safe and fun that encouraged healthy habits early on,” Shay told ELLE.

Rini’s debut collection features three gentle hydrogel masks: the Hydrating Hydrogel Mask with vitamin B12, the After Sun Hydrogel Mask with aloe vera and vitamin E, and the Everyday Face Sheet Mask with tremella mushroom and beta-glucan. Each comes in playful packaging featuring animals like puppies, unicorns, and pandas.

Shay shared that Rini is not about anti-aging or firming ingredients, but about introducing kids to simple self-care routines that feel good. “It’s about creating healthy habits and having that self-care time,” she explained.

Esther added that they wanted to make something “effective, gentle, and joyful.” She brought her Korean skincare roots into the formulas while Shay drew from her Filipino heritage, combining both traditions to focus on hydration and protection.

Rini officially launches today, and Shay hopes it inspires parents and kids to turn skincare into a bonding ritual that’s as fun as it is nurturing.
