
Rosalía‘s new album Lux is out now, and fans are eagerly looking into the lyrics of all of their favorite songs from the record.
“Porcelana” is one particular standout from the 33-year-old superstar’s album, which features lyrics in Spanish, Latin, Japanese and English.
The track features Dougie F, and was co-produced by Noah Goldstein, Sir Dylan, Elliott Kozel and Rosalía.

In the song, she makes reference to Ryōnen Gensō, and she explained the track’s inspiration.
“I’ll throw away my beauty / Before you have the chance to ruin it / Will you think I’m crazy?” she sings in Japanese.
“Because there’s this saint, Ryōnen Gensō, she was a Japanese saint. It was very interesting. Apparently she destroyed her face in order to be accepted into a monastery…that was incredible. The level of sacrifice in order for her to both achieve what she wanted, and also maybe how a lot of times is considered craziness…an extreme can be considered craziness,” she told Zane Lowe in her Apple Music interview.
“Who am I to judge what is extreme or not. I think that each person has a different path and I’m nobody to judge if that’s extreme or not. But maybe for me, as Rosalía, it would be very hard to do something like that. I consider it maybe extreme for who I am, but I don’t consider it extreme for her that she did that.”
