Michael Caine & Matthew McConaughey Partner With AI Company ElevenLabs to Preserve Their Voices

Michael Caine and Matthew McConaughey have teamed up with an AI company called ElevenLabs to produce virtual replications of their voices.

The 92-year-old British actor is adding his voice to the company’s Iconic Voice Marketplace, which allows creative teams and companies to request to use the included voices for projects, such as book or article narration, per Variety.

Other famous voices included in this digital marketplace include Maya Angelou, John Wayne, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland, Richard Feynman, Mark Twain, Babe Ruth, Alan Turing, Sir Laurence Olivier, and more.

Michael shared a statement via ElevenLabs: “For years, I’ve lent my voice to stories that moved people — tales of courage, of wit, of the human spirit. Now, I’m helping others find theirs. With ElevenLabs, we can preserve and share voices — not just mine, but anyone’s.”

“ElevenLabs is at the very forefront of technology, using innovation not to replace humanity, but to celebrate it. ElevenLabs gives everyone the tools to be heard. It’s not about replacing voices; it’s about amplifying them, opening doors for new storytellers everywhere. I’ve spent a lifetime telling stories. ElevenLabs will help the next generation tell theirs.”

Matthew previously invested an “undisclosed sum” in the New York-based company, along with collaborating with them since their 2022 founding.

His latest project is using the tech to “bring a Spanish-language audio version of his newsletter ‘Lyrics of Livin’ in his own voice.”
