Tate McRae just delivered the deluxe edition of her 2025 studio album So Close to What on Friday (November 21), and fans are eagerly digging into the lyrics of every new song on the expanded record, including “Horseshoe.”

The track was produced by Grant and Emile Haynie, and Tate wrote it with the two alongside Amy Allen.

The track sees Tate comparing her lucky life as a public figure while simultaneously feeling sad in her personal life.

“Got twenty thousand people just smiling / And it only takes one to get me spiraling / Hit a joint, but it didn’t get high for me / I’m not a pop star when I’m all alone,” she confesses.

She also addresses a relationship’s end, which follows the news of her split from The Kid LAROI.

“I know the house burned down, but I finally saw the moon / Oh, but I’m still f–ked up by you,” she sings, seemingly referencing the chorus of her previous track “Siren Sounds,” in which she sings about living in a burning house.

“You just said you needed space to get your head right / Sleeping with another girl’s what you meant by / We were moving different ways,” she goes on to say.
