Previously, the role was cast with Robert Townsend, who was to play the part, then described as “an excellent (and grouchy) veteran basketball coach who knows how to get the best out of his teams, but not always how to communicate.”

Now, the role is reportedly being reworked with reshoots currently taking place.

Deadline reports that Ray‘s Norm is “a basketball savant-turned-social recluse who will team with Isla (Kate Hudson) to re-discover his love for the game, and life.”

Filming for the new season kicked off back in August, five months after it was announced the Netflix series was renewed.
