Platonic Season 2 is coming to an end!
In the show, a platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) reconnect after a long rift.
The season finale of the show debuted on Apple TV+ on Wednesday (October 1), in which Sylvia and Will’s friendship hits a wall, and Sylvia has a realization about her marriage, while Will hears news about his bar.
Of course, fans are curious to know if there will be a third season.

As of now, Platonic has not been officially renewed for Season 3 or canceled.
The show was originally pitched to be one season that would follow the lead stars, with the next seasons featuring different stories and casts. But during filming of the first season, the co-creators realized they had something special.
“They have such amazing chemistry together, and it was such a great experience, that we decided to ask them if they would be open to doing more, and they said yes. And Apple, rightly so, felt like they were the show’s identity. I remember they said, ‘Who is going to want to watch a season two without them?’” co-creator Nicholas Stoller told THR.
The lead stars are also definitely down for more seasons.
“I would love to keep doing Platonic. I think there are really great storylines for the season. And it’s something I would love to keep doing as long as people enjoy watching it,” Seth Rogen told Decider of future seasons.
The two already addressed who they’d love to appear on the show, including a reunion with Neighbors co-star Zac Efron
“I don’t understand why that hasn’t come to fruition yet. Now I have it in my head that’s what we need to do,” Rose told THR.
“We need to get Ike [Barinholtz], who also co-starred in the film] and Zac in Platonic. That’d be great,” Seth added.
The show has a 96% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an 80% audience score. We’ll have to wait and see if Apple TV+ makes an announcement!
