“I didn’t know until I was older actually how brutal it really was,” she continued.

Miley maintained that despite all the anger from critics, she said that it wasn’t just for show and that she actually enjoyed embracing her wild side and had fun living it up.

“It was very challenging for other people but for me, it was a good time,” Miley shared. “It looked fun and it was fun. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized how harsh…”

The “Flowers” singer went on to explain that she now views the reaction more critically.

“I would never now, being where I am, ever look at anyone in their 20s from the view of who I am now,” she said. “But at the time, it was awesome.”

In another recent interview, Miley revealed the “beautiful” items she kept from her relationship with ex Liam Hemsworth.
