“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.’❤️” she captioned a picture of the two embracing in bed.
The post received a lot of praise and laughing along with Kristen from co-stars and friends, but other people were less enthusiastic.
“Kristen there’s no way you posted this during domestic violence awareness month 😭,” one popular comment reads.
“That’s….a very weird thing to say,” wrote another.
“Thats a wildly sad and insensitive thing to say considering it’s domestic violence awareness month and thousands of women have died a the hands of the man they trusted…,” another comment reads.
“hey! i’ve been a fan for a while. I just wanted to say that please don’t joke about domestic violence. Please keep in mind that this is something real that lots of people suffer on a daily basis. And the text could be triggering for victims,” reads another.
“Is femicide not a thing in the US? Here in the Netherlands a woman is killed by her (ex)partner every 8 days. So to post this and call it sweet or a joke is wild to me,” wrote another fan.
Comments on the post have since been limited.
She recently revealed that her husband is “over” acting.
