Jennifer Lopez is sticking up for Bad Bunny.
Ever since it was announced last month that the 31-year-old “MONACO” singer will be headlining the Halftime Show at the 2026 Super Bowl in February, he has faced a lot of backlash and criticism from conservatives.
While appearing on Today on Monday (October 6), Jennifer, 56, reacted to the criticism.

She said that the four of them had an “amazing time” creating what she called a “cultural moment.”
“I think he’s about to blow everybody’s minds,” Jennifer added, before predicting Bad Bunny might be introducing himself to some in America that aren’t aware of his worldwide fame.
When asked about the controversy, Jennifer appeared surprised, saying, “Is there a controversy? I swear I don’t know.
“There are a lot of folks who have not been wild about the idea,” Today‘s Craig Melvin mentioned and when Jennifer asked him to elaborate, Craig vaguely responded, “You’d have to ask them. He’s wildly popular, but for a lot of folks, they have said, it should be someone else.”
“But why? I don’t understand that. He’s one of the top artists in the world right now, probably the top,” Jennifer then said. “It could be a lot of different people. That’s the thing. I’m super excited for people to see him.”
“I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised because his music transcends language,” she continued. “It’s amazing what he’s done. He’s done something that a lot of people have never done in their life.”
“I’m so excited for him,” Jennifer concluded. “I was excited when he performed with us at the Super Bowl and I’m excited to see what he does. He puts on a great show. He’s an amazing entertainer.”
If you didn’t see, Jennifer called out Craig when he mentioned her divorce from Ben Affleck during their Today interview.
