A lot of fans are curious about what caused a major rift between Chrishell Stause and Emma Hernan.
For a while now, Selling Sunset fans have speculated that Chrishell, 44, and Emma, 33, had some sort of falling out as they stopped sharing photos with each other on social media.
When season 9 of the Netflix reality show premiered on Wednesday (October 29), viewers got to see more about their rift and it all seems to stem from Emma‘s new relationship with a man named Blake Davis.

Immediately, Chrishell didn’t seem to vibe with Blake and in a confessional, she said, “It feels like I’m having a conversation with a child or a drunk cheerleader.”
After Blake lists all the things he likes about Emma, before saying that he loves her, Chelsea supports Emma‘s new man while Chrishell does not.
“You don’t want to feel like you’re being someone’s mom … it feels like you’d be his mom a little bit,” Chrishell told Emma. “I hope he’s still maturing. God forbid he doesn’t. I don’t think this is your person. But that’s also probably not what you want to hear right now, so I’ll be quiet.”
In episode five, Emma admitted that Blake “doesn’t want me to work,” which is something that has caused friction between them.
“I can’t even believe that’s a conversation. What a douchebag,” Chrishell exclaimed after hearing this, before Emma clarified that she has no intention to stop working.
Chrishell then said that she fears that Blake will “isolate” Emma from her friends and accused him of being controlling. She also warns that Blake might be planning to “knock her up” in order to lock down his relationship with Emma.
“There is a textbook playbook about men that do that,” Chrishell said, calling him a “love bomber” before making it very clear that she is “not happy for” Emma.
In another episode, Chrishell goes into further detail about why she doesn’t support Emma dating Blake.
“I don’t approve of Blake. He’s really controlling. I’ve seen him be extremely obsessive,” she said in a confessional. “He tries to control different things she says, does, who she hangs out with, who she posts. Huge red flags, that’s just really unacceptable.”
Emma admitted that she found it very hard to date someone while having a close friend not support the relationship.
After claiming that Blake proposed to her, Emma said that she declined and tells Chrishell that she decided to ends things with him because he was getting more “jealous and possessive,” claiming it “bothered him” anytime she went on listings.
“I ended things with him, like, for good, for good,” Emma insisted to Chrishell. “He proposed and I knew it wasn’t right when he did it. Worst proposal ever.”
While Chrishell apologized for not making it easy on Emma by sharing her harsh opinions of Blake, she pointed out that her behavior proved that she would always keep it real with her friends.
Months before the season actually aired, Chrishell shared more insight into her falling out with Emma and explained why she does not like Blake.
In the comment section of an Instagram video she posted in May, a fan asked Chrishell, “What’s happening with you and Emma? Hot topic on Reddit.”
Chrishell didn’t hold back as she ripped into Blake.
“Ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb and that he likes to use the N word,” Chrishell wrote at the time. “I just can’t with that. Too old to allow that in. But love her from afar.”
While all seemed better between Chrishell and Emma in the season 9 finale after Emma ended things with Blake, the ladies got into a heated argument about him at the reunion, which was filmed this past August.
The Selling Sunset season 9 reunion drops on Netflix on November 5.
