Gayle King is breaking her silence on all the reports about her future at CBS.
On Thursday (October 30), it was reported that the 70-year-old longtime CBS Mornings co-anchor is expected to exit her anchor seat next year as the network undergoes a huge overhaul under the new Paramount Skydance leadership.
Gayle‘s contract is up in May 2026, and while CBS is hoping to keep her in the fold, the next phase of her role is unclear, per Variety.
While leaving the CBS studios in New York City on Friday morning (October 31), Gayle addressed the reports.

“I’ll say this: I like the job and the people that I work with, so I don’t know what to tell you,” she added. “I don’t know what to tell you about it.”
Gayle reiterated that what she’s “hearing in the building” is not what she’s “reading in the press.”
“And what I’m not gonna do is negotiate in the media. Not doing that!” Gayle sternly said as she hopped into her waiting ride.
When asked whether she has “an idea of what things might look like … if the show’s going in another direction,” Gayle replied, “I have no idea. I have no idea. All I know is I am here. I am here and glad to be here.”
A spokesperson for CBS also addressed reports about Gayle‘s future with the network.
