One of the most exciting parts of Dua Lipa‘s Radical Optimism Tour is her nightly surprise song and she’s picking California-themed classics for her Los Angeles shows.
The 30-year-old music star is nearing the end of her U.S. leg of the tour and she kicked off the L.A. shows on Saturday night (October 4) at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
Dua is performing four shows at the venue this week and then she’ll continue the tour with two shows in San Francisco this coming weekend.
“I’ve spent a lot of time in this city and I’ve written a lot of songs here. It always feels very, very special coming back,” Dua told the crowd on Saturday.
She continued, “This next song is always a special one and a nervous, scary one for me, because every night we do a surprise song. When I was thinking about Los Angeles and all of the incredible music that has come out of this city, I also think about so many artists and creators that come here to find themselves, to find their sound, to find who they are. To go to Hollywood and figure out what makes them unique, what makes them special, what makes them magic. This next song is by a band that has done exactly that in Los Angeles.”
