Buzz Aldrin is mourning the loss of his wife Anca Faur.
The 95-year-old astronaut’s wife of nearly three years passed away on Tuesday night (October 28), their families shared in a statement. She was 66 years old.
“Dr. Anca Aldrin, wife of astronaut Buzz Aldrin, peacefully passed away last night with her husband and her son, Vlad Ghenciu by her side. Mrs. Aldrin, an accomplished chemical engineer with a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, served as the treasurer for the California Hydrogen Business Council and as Executive Vice President of Buzz Aldrin Ventures LLC,” the statement, on behalf of the Faur and Aldrin families, said. “Her family requests privacy in their time of mourning.”
“I am so fortunate to have found and married the love of my life,” Buzz shared in a brief statement included in the post. “She brought joy to everything we did together. I will miss her dearly.”

According to People, Buzz and Anca started dating in 2018 and tied the knot on his 93rd birthday in January 2023.
