Jimmy Kimmel Live! will not be on TV screens for the “foreseeable future.”

On Wednesday evening (September 17), ABC announced that the late-night show has been pulled off the air indefinitely following comments Jimmy, 57, said in the wake of right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk‘s death.

Following the shocking announcement, we looked up just actually what Jimmy said that got his late-night show pulled.

Keep reading to find out more…In his opening monologue on Monday night (September 15), Jimmy addressed all of the reactions following Charlie‘s death the week before at the age of 31.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them with everything they can to score political points from,” Jimmy said.

“In between the finger pointing, there was grieving,” he added.

Jimmy then brought up that Donald Trump had ordered American flags to fly at half-staff in remembrance of Charlie. He also jokingly noted that Trump, 79, has been taking Charlie‘s death “hard,” before showing a clip of the president taking to reporters about the White House ballroom he’s constructing when asked how he was coping with Charlie‘s passing.

“He’s at the fourth stage of grief, construction,” Jimmy quipped. “It’s demolition, construction.”

Jimmy then took a swipe at Trump, who was reportedly close friends with Charlie.

“This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend,” Jimmy claimed. “This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish.”

Two days later, ABC decided to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely after facing pressure from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who threatened legal action against the network for Jimmy‘s comments, and after Nexstar Media, which is one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the United States, said it intended to “replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Hours after Charlie was shot and killed at an event in Utah, Jimmy took to social media to send his condolences to his wife and children.
