Ned Fulmer is ready to re-enter the spotlight, three years after his public cheating scandal.

If you don’t know, Ned was part of a group called the Try Guys, who rose to fame on BuzzFeed. Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld and Eugene Lee Yang were the other three members of the popular group. In 2022, Ned was accused of cheating on his wife with one of the producers who worked with the Try Guys after photos of them emerged together. He then confirmed the rumors and was kicked out of the group.

His wife Ariel gave a statement after it all went down as well.

Now, in his first interview sine, he’s explaining more.

After the scandal became public, he first was “trying to understand why I had done what I had done,” claiming his wife was who he “cared the most about.”

“That was most devastating to work through and to realize — how much pain I had caused her. If I were looking at a past version of myself, how I’d really want to change [is] the way I’d been interacting with her,” he told People in the sit down.

He added, “It’s pretty well known that I was presenting myself as a wife guy who talked about his adorable relationship. It was something fans seemed to resonate with and I leaned into consciously. It certainly was a part of my life.

About the “disconnect” he faced from his outward facing persona, he shared that it is a reason why he dealt with it self destructively, saying, “It’s obviously not how real relationships work. And I think that disconnect was challenging for me to deal with, and I obviously dealt with it in a very self-destructive and painful way.”

“I understand that that’s why it was such a big scandal — because it’s ironic and it feels like a rug pull to people. That must have been really painful and devastating to the viewers,” he continued.

So, how did they move forward together? They went to therapy. By doing this, they created a “foundation of trust.” He shared that through couple’s therapy, he was ultimately able to “recognize his own discomfort with honesty.”

About the state of their marriage today, he shared, “It’s certainly stronger than it was before. We have a much clearer sense of boundaries — understanding and respecting each other’s boundaries — as well as integrity and being direct with each other, even when it might be unpleasant.”

He added, “Every cent that we spent on therapy was worth it for the improvements in our family life.”

So, why is he giving this interview now? It appears as if he’s ready to step back into the spotlight!

“I started to want to create and miss making things. I mean, I’m the type of person that’d be in a community theater show getting paid nothing. I just love it,” he said.

His first project is the launch of his new podcast, “Hard Truths,” which will focus on “anyone who’s overcome something challenging.”

“It’s made me a lot more interested in other people’s challenging times. When someone does something that they’re really ashamed about or that is deeply traumatizing, life goes on. So what happens next?… It’s one thing to talk about in a therapy setting. It’s a really hard thing to have that conversation in such a way where you know people are watching it. But once we watched the full episode, it was something we were really proud of.”

The first episode launches tomorrow.
