A source tells People that these allegations are “false,” and that the co-hosts are instead “focused” on doing their jobs.

“As always, the team is focused on doing the job of producing a daily talk show and having thoughtful conversations at the table,” the source concluded.

Rumors began to swirl when The View neglected to mention Jimmy at all during the September 18 episode, which aired one day after Jimmy Kimmel Live! was pulled off the air. Viewers expected to hear the co-hosts discuss the controversy, but they notably stayed quiet on the topic.

Similarly, The View panelists didn’t bring up the late-night talk show host on their Friday (September 19) episode either, leading to speculation that something might be going on behind-the-scenes.

FCC Chair Brendan Carr previously suggested that The View should be closely examined to ensure the hosts are adhering to the FCC’s equal opportunity rule. He mentioned the talk show by name while visiting The Scott Jennings Radio Show.

“I think it’s worthwhile to have the FCC look into whether The View and some of the programs that you have still qualify as bona fide news programs and therefore exempt from the equal opportunity regime that Congress has put in place,” he said, via People.

However, a source told The Hollywood Reporter that The View has not been “forbidden” from discussing Jimmy.
