On top of the show’s renewal, Variety reports that original showrunner Terence Winter is set to return to the show as head writer and executive producer for the upcoming new season.
Terence previously stepped down as showrunner ahead of season two, only serving as a writer and executive producer. He then skipped season three to focus on another series for FX.
Season three showrunner Dave Erickson has reportedly exited the series to center his attention on Mayor of Kingstown.
Tulsa King season three is set to debut this upcoming Sunday (September 21).
In the coming episodes, “as Dwight’s empire expands, so do his enemies and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.”
Samuel L Jackson will appear in the upcoming season to introduce his character Russell Lee Washington Jr before his move from Tulsa to New Orleans. He will then star in the upcoming spinoff NOLA King.
