Sabrina Carpenter Jokes About Her Lengthy Music Career While Accepting Album of the Year at MTV VMAs 2025

Sabrina Carpenter picked up a win during the VMAs and she joked about her long music career!

The 26-year-old singer won Best Album for Short n’ Sweet at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 7) at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.

While her other wins hadn’t been announced yet, Sabrina went backstage after accepting the award and posed with three Moonperson trophies.

Sabrina joked about having a long music career before reaching massive success. While she was first nominated for Best New Artist at the the 2025 Grammys, she had already released six albums by that point!

“I really don’t take for granted when you guys take the time out of your lives to listen to an album, and if I’m lucky enough that that is my album, I am so grateful. Whether it’s Short n Sweet or Man’s Best Friend, or whether it be one of my 29 before that, I’m just the luckiest girl in the world,” Sabrina said.

Sabrina‘s discography includes 2015′s Eyes Wide Open, 2016′s Evolution, 2018′s Singular: Act I, and 2019′s Singular: Act II. She then changed labels and released Emails I Can’t Send in 2022, Short n’ Sweet in 2024, and Man’s Best Friend in 2025.
